I believe that the gift of each new day brings new opportunities for insights about self and others.  Today was a good day at Prince of Peace Church as we worshipped and began to lay some groundwork for an upcoming event called Relay for Life.  Yes, a new opportunity is just a few weeks away!  I truly hope you will catch the spirit of this chance we have to give Prince of Peace Church energy to a brand new event in the Center Grove area of Johnson County.  There will be many ways you can participate in this event that will be held on June 7 and 8. 

    For now I want to encourage you to make certain that the weekend event is on your calendar.  It will commence at 11 AM on Saturday and conclude around 11 AM on Sunday.  We will have our worship service at the Relay and I will be speaking/ preaching for the Relay worship service.  You don't need to be in attendance for the entire 24 hours, but we will have a "Prince of Peace Church Team Campsite" for you to come and stay as long as you desire.  More details will come.
 
   So what insights did I experience today?  I had at least five encounters following worship that confirmed the importance of our taking God's Good News out to the Relay for Life track in June.  People came to me and told me their personal stories about effects cancer has had in their lives and/or family member's lives.  One person said, "The events of this last week have certainly given me a new perspective on cancer."  Prince of Peace Church is going to make a difference on June 7 and 8 as the Center Grove area has their first Relay for Life.  I look forward to our involvement!
